The USA urges Skopje not to provoke Bulgaria and Greece

Washington has called on Skopje to make continuous efforts and reforms to achieve progress in joining the EU. "We encourage the continuation of dialogue between North Macedonia and Bulgaria, which is rooted in a shared commitment to the country's future as a full member of the EU," the US Department of State told Voice of America.

‘’Our common goals for security, prosperity, and full Euro-Atlantic integration remain, and the United States will continue to support North Macedonia in fulfilling these aspirations. Bulgaria insists on the inclusion of Bulgarians in the Constitution as a precondition for the start of North Macedonia's EU membership negotiations. The US remains firmly committed to the Prespa Agreement", the US embassy in North Macedonia said.

Gordana Siljanovska took oath as the president of the country and did not use the official name North Macedonia, sparking a diplomatic scandal and violating the 2018 Prespa Agreement.
