The Bulgarian School "Nikola Vaptsarov" in Nicosia celebrates its tenth anniversary

The largest Bulgarian school in Cyprus - the Nikola Vaptsarov school in Nicosia - is celebrating today its tenth anniversary and the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, reports BNR correspondent Branislava Bobanats. 

The event is part of the Days of Bulgarian Culture organised by the Union of Bulgarians in Cyprus.

The programme, dedicated to Bulgaria, letters and literacy, will be hosted by the current graduates. Students from all classes will present works of Bulgarian literature studied during the year, recite and perform songs. 

The awarding of certificates for the successful completion of the school year will mark the grand finale. First graders and graduates will receive their document from the Bulgarian Ambassador to Cyprus Nedyalcho Danchev. 

There are a total of ten Bulgarian weekend schools in Cyprus. There are 195 pupils studying in the Nikola Vaptsarov Bulgarian school in Nicosia.
