About 2,500 Bulgarians have been trained as paramedics since 2016. Nearly 60% of them emigrated and practice their profession abroad. This is what Iva Pehlivanska, president of the Union of Paramedics in Bulgaria, told BNR on the occasion of today's Emergency Medicine Day.
The average salary of such a professional in Western Europe is 2,000 euros, but this is not the main reason they leave the country, Pehlivanska pointed out.
