A second panorama of African-Caribbean cinema will take place between May 31 and June 1. The Sofia University ''St. Kiment Ohridski'' plays host to the two-day event. It is organized by the African and Indo-Pacific Studies Department and the African-Caribbean Cultural Centre with the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology at the Sofia University, in partnership with the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts, reported BTA. The festival is part of the cultural program dedicated to Africa Day. Traditionally, it is celebrated on May 25 throughout the world to showcase the African Union and its role for the consolidation of African nations, cultural diversity and the richness of the continent.

There will also be master cinema classes with the participation of foreign guest lecturers Alaa Eddine Aljem from Morocco and George Bosompim from Ghana. On May 31, guests will have the opportunity to experience African traditions by participating in lectures and two free-of-charge workshops on African rhythms and African dances, led by drummer Deyan Petrov-Dizzy and choreographer Petya Stoykova. The festival will be accompanied by musical performances by the reggae band Roots Rocket in the courtyard of Sofia University.
