NATO Permanent Commission will not participate in the Breeze 2024 naval exercise

For the first time, the NATO Permanent Commission will not participate in the National Naval Exercise "Breeze - 2024" because of the different situation we are in, announced the Commander of the Naval Forces in Bulgaria, Rear Admiral Kiril Mihailov, who at an official ceremony in Burgas welcomed the ships of the newly formed naval mine countermeasures group in the Black Sea.

The group of four anti-mine ships - two Turkish, one Romanian and the Bulgarian mine hunter Struma - aims to clear the western part of the sea of ​​military mines. Its perimeter of action will cover the maritime spaces of the three countries.

"In addition to ships, other means such as three maritime patrol aircraft from the United States, France and Turkey, the Belgian Navy with a specialized autonomous underwater vehicle, officers from many other countries are participating in the exercise," said Rear Admiral Kiril Mihailov.
