Bulgaria's only Olympic canoeist was banned from competition last month

The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS) has lifted the ban on Bulgaria's only Olympic canoeist, Yoana Georgieva. She had been suspended since early June when it was announced that she had breached anti-doping rules by failing to provide a sample in December 2023.

The sanction was lifted after evidence was presented in the case. As a result of the court's decision, Georgieva will compete at both the upcoming U23 World Championships in Plovdiv and the sport's biggest event, the Olympic Games in Paris, which begin on 26 July.
