Marathon to the highest peak of the Balkan Mountains

BALKAN RUN 2024 starts on Sunday

The BALKAN RUN 2024 to Mt. Botev and back will take place on Sunday, 21 July 2024, along a 41-kilometre route with the start/finish in the town of Karlovo. 

The route has a cumulative elevation gain of D+3280m in the heart of the Central Balkan National Park with a tour of the Stara Reka and Dzhendema reserves, passing by the beautiful 124m high Rayskoto Praskalo waterfall. The other option is a 26 km route with D+1875 m.

Mount Botev (2376 m) is the highest peak in the Balkan Mountains and the third highest in Bulgaria after Mount Musala in the Rila Mountains and Mount Vihren in the Pirin Mountains.
