The newly-elected Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil will start visits to the dioceses in the country. The first city he will visit is Vidin, the Vidin Metropolitanate announced. The city is the centre of the diocese he headed before being elected Bulgarian Patriarch.
Patriarch Daniil will be greeted with a procession at 6 p.m. today in Bdintsi Square. His Holiness will give his first Patriarchal blessing to the residents and guests of the town. The procession will continue to the Cathedral of St. Demetrios of Thessaloniki, where people will have the opportunity to personally greet him and receive his blessing, BTA reports.

Metropolitan Daniil of Vidin was elected on June 30 as Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia by the delegates of the Patriarchal Electoral Church Council. The election was made after a ballot between Metropolitan Grigoriy of Vratsa and Metropolitan Daniil of Vidin.
