Botev Plovdiv draws vs. Maribor, qualifies for Europa League second qualifying round

The holder of the Bulgarian Cup Botev Plovdiv qualified for the second qualifying round of the football tournament UEFA Europa League after a 2-2 draw against Maribor, Slovenia. In the first match Botev Plovdiv won by 2-1.

In the 13th minute Maribor’s Jan Repas scored the first goal, and only two minutes into the second half Botev Plovdiv’s Christian Nwachukwu drew 1-1. After one hour of play Botev took the lead after Anthony Ujah scored – 2-1, and in the 80th minute the Slovenian team scored their second goal. Though with some difficulty, the Bulgarian team managed to withstand the pressure, and the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Botev Plovdiv’s next match will be against Panathinaikos in Athens on 25 July. The return match will be a week later
