For the first time, the Bulgarian Antarctic base on Livingston Island will study in detail the pulsations in the Earth's ionosphere caused by solar storms and the activity of the solar corona.

This is envisaged in the first Bulgarian polar astronomical scientific research project called "Impact of solar activity on ionospheric dynamics and high-energy particle flows over Antarctica", which will take place in 2024-2025, the BAS reports. Scientific experiments will help to fully investigate peak solar flares and their effects on the Earth.
