October 9 is the deadline for applications for research residencies for literary translators from Bulgarian under the Archipelagos project, the Next Page Foundation announced. The residencies will take place at the House for Literature and Translation in Sofia in March, April, May, June, September, October, November and December 2025. Their duration is from 2 to 4 weeks.
Translators from Bulgarian to the languages of the Creative Europe program can apply. The Archipelagos project aims to reveal the diversity of literary histories in Europe by supporting literary translators to discover new voices from "small" languages. It is managed by Atlas (France), in partnership with 11 European organizations. The project is co-financed by the "Creative Europe" program of the European Union and by the "Culture" national fund.
