One of our ambitious goals is to make Sofia a net zero carbon city by 2030. This was announced by the Mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, at the opening of the 61st session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Bulgaria's capital city is hosting the forum from today until 2 August.

According to Terziev, Sofia is already taking steps in this direction. "Our vision is clear - to turn the capital into a sustainable and green place that can set an example for other cities in the country. Our approaches must be careful and take into account the connectivity of the biosphere, urban elements and social and economic needs," he noted, as quoted by BTA.
