The mayors of Tutrakan and Oltenița negotiatе the future ferry link

The construction of a ferry link between Tutrakan and the Romanian town of Oltenița is expected to begin soon, the mayor of Tutrakan Municipality Dimitar Stefanov wrote on Facebook after a meeting with his Romanian counterpart Mihăiță Beștea. The two have determined the location of the dock. The facility will be designed to transport cars, buses, minibuses and light trucks. "The infrastructure and the ferry will be built by private investors. The ferry link will facilitate the fruit growers and fishermen from Tutrakan who mainly export their produce to Bucharest. It will also increase the number of tourists from Romania and Ukraine", said Dimitar Stefanov.

A new meeting between the two mayors is scheduled for July 29 to finalize all the details regarding the construction of the ferry link. On the Bulgarian side, the dock will be near the village of Pozharevo.
