Two concerts in one night at Plovdiv Jazz Fest

On August 8, the Plovdiv Jazz Festival will delight its fans with the only evening of two concerts at the Orpheus Summer Cinema in Plovdiv. The trio of the renowned double bassist Avishai Cohen, who is coming to Bulgaria for the summer program of the festival, will perform. He was here for the first time in 2020, when the anti-epidemic measures surrounding the pandemic prevented many from wanting to hear him live.

Cohen is a double bassist, singer and songwriter with a reputation as one of the world's most compelling performers over the past two decades. His compositions span a diverse range of traditions, cultures, languages, and styles, from songs in Hebrew to Ibero-American folk songs, to the blending of classical music and jazz, to jazz standards and contemporary jazz.

Prior to the Avishai Cohen Trio concert, the audience will meet Frantik Zen, a band led by Catalan saxophonist Arnau Garofe, who has lived in Bulgaria for almost a decade.
