"Fashion in the Mirror of a Century - from the mid-19th to the mid-20th Century" is the name of an exhibition that will be attracting the attention of visitors at the Varna State Archives since today.

More than 120 photographs trace the changes in clothing, accessories, uniforms and hairstyles in one of the most interesting periods of modern Bulgarian history.

Special attention is paid to the famous designers, as well as to ladies who stood out with their style and elegance, such as Lora Karavelova, Sultana Racho Petrova, Dora Gabe, Elisaveta Bagryana and Yana Yazova.

The exhibition shows only a small part of the evidence of the role of fashion as an aesthetic catalyst of Bulgarian society on the path of its European growth, which the State Archives Agency keeps in its photo vault, the organizers note.
