Semen Novikov, Boryana Kaleyn will be Bulgarian flag bearers at Olympic closing ceremony

The Bulgarian flag at tonight's closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris will be carried by rhythmic gymnast Boryana Kaleyn and classical wrestling champion Semen Novikov.

The tally for Bulgaria from the 2024 Paris Olympics is seven medals - three gold, one silver and three bronze.

Semen Novikov won a gold medal in the 87kg classical wrestling category. Rhythmic gymnast Boryana Kaleyn took a silver medal in the all-around individual event.

Bulgaria participated in Paris with 46 athletes in 16 sports - badminton, boxing, wrestling, weightlifting, rowing, judo, canoe-kayak, athletics, modern pentathlon, swimming, gymnastics, shooting, taekwondo, tennis, fencing and rhythmic gymnastics. 

Bulgaria finishes 26th in the final medal standings at the Paris Olympics, followed by traditional sports nations such as the Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark, Austria, Serbia.
