Uniformed and civilian employees of the Interior Ministry held a protest near the building of the Bulgarian Parliament in defense of Caretaker Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov.

"After every shift, reassignments start and it gets scary. Every one of us is fed up with the police being used, and it is not true that the police did not do their job during the elections," said Lachezar Kolev of the Security Police.

By law, officers have no right to protest, BTA reports.

Upon the arrival of Minister Kalin Stoyanov, the police turned on the sirens of their vehicles.

"We have witnessed how a minister is being sought only to return to them about 300,000 lost votes. Yesterday we saw and understood how some of these politicians started explaining what they meant. According to them, 35,000 votes were bought in the last election. I want to ask them how they arrived at that figure," Stoyanov asked.
