Grigor Dimitrov advances to the US Open quarterfinals

Bulgaria's best tennis player Grigor Dimitrov has advanced to the quarterfinals of the US Open after defeating Andrey Rublev (Russia) 6:3, 7:6 (3), 1:6, 3:6, 6:3. The match lasted 3 hours and 45 minutes. Dimitrov has qualified for the US Open quarterfinals for the second time. In 2019, he reached the semifinals of the tournament.

33-year-old Dimitrov is the oldest player remaining in the US Open. He has now notched 97 Grand Slam victories and a total of 450 ATP tour wins in his career.

Grigor Dimitrov's next opponent at the US Open will be Frances Tiafoe (USA). So far, Dimitrov leads the head-to-head series 3:1. In their most recent match at this year's Wimbledon, Dimitrov won in straight sets—6-2, 6-3, 6-2.
