The project to build the 7th and 8th units at the Kozloduy nuclear power plant is strategic for Bulgaria and Europe

This was emphasized by the Caretaker Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov during his visit to Seoul at the meeting with the management of Hyundai Engineering and Construction, which together with the US-based Westinghouse will build the two new units of the Kozloduy NPP.

Malinov and the management of the company promised each other that the two parties would make every effort to build the first AP 1000 reactor in Europe in Bulgaria. They promised a loan from the Korean Exim Bank to finance part of the project.

So far, Bulgaria has managed to negotiate a loan of USD 8 billion from the Export-Import Bank of the United States, according to Bulgaria's energy ministry.
