On September 14, the school bell rang for 65 students and teachers at the Bulgarian Sunday school "Sts. Cyril and Methodius" in Istanbul. In the Bulgarian Exarchate, which houses the only Bulgarian school in the metropolis, a celebration was held for the first day of school. The guests were the Minister of Education and Science Galin Tsokov, Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev, Consul General Vasil Valchev and Consul Radoslava Kafedzhiyska, teachers, many parents and relatives.

"We live in a multi-million and multicultural city, in which the preservation of the Bulgarian language and traditions is a main task. We carry it out with the support of the Bulgarian institutions, the supporters and above all, our warm-hearted students and parents", the director Pavlina Kopano said.
