The announcement was made by legendary Bulgarian footballer and 1994 Ballon d'Or winner Hristo Stoichkov in Burgas, where he inaugurated a children's football tournament in the city's central Troikata Square.

Stoichkov accepted FIFA President Gianni Infantino's invitation to become the organisation's ambassador for Eastern Europe a month ago.
