At today’s meeting, the Council of Ministers approved the opening of a consulate of Namibia in Bulgaria, headed by an honorary consular official based in Sofia. Bulgarian Mihail Mihaylov will take on the role of honorary consular official. He served as Third Secretary at the Bulgarian Embassy in Addis Ababa from 1985 to 1990.
From 2006 to 2021, Mihail Mihaylov was honorary consul of Bulgaria in Namibia, based in Windhoek. In February 2021, he was awarded a Golden Laurel Branch by the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry for his dedicated efforts to promote Bulgaria’s reputation in Namibia and for his contribution to deepening bilateral relations.
