The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Bulgaria of Javelin FGM-148F missiles and related equipment for an estimated cost of USD 114 million, a Pentagon press release reads.
The Javelin FGM-148F is a man-portable anti-tank system. This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by helping to improve the security of a NATO Ally that is an important force for political and economic stability in Europe, the Pentagon writes.
The decision for the purchase of this equipment was approved by the Bulgarian National Assembly on 8 August this year, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports.
