The main function and role of the Bulgarian Cultural Institutes abroad is to present the achievements of Bulgarian culture in all its diversity to the audience of the host country. "Our programme should be varied and everyone should find something interesting for themselves" - with this creed Borislav Petranov took the helm of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin five years ago and for the second term his team continues to delight the admirers of Bulgarian culture with curious encounters and exciting experiences on "Bulgarian territory" abroad.

Pianist Todor Pazov
On the occasion of World Music Day, on October 1, Bulgarian pianist Teodor Pazov, who is currently completing his bachelor studies in the class of Maria Yankova in Hamburg, will be a guest there.

A special exhibition will present the work of two important Bulgarian artists - Angel Karanesehev and Nedyalko Karanesehev. On October 8, the exhibition will open with works from the city art gallery in their hometown of Veliko Tarnovo, complemented by previously unseen paintings from the family's private collections. "Some of these works, which for decades were thought to have been lost, are now available to the public for the first time after restoration," explains the team of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin.
At the end of the month, on 27 and 28 October, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in the German capital will host an international conference on "Bulgarian Studies in the Field of Contemporary Humanities". The event is organized under the National Scientific Program "Development and Promotion of Bulgarian Studies Abroad" by the teams of the Plovdiv University "St. Paisii Hilendarski", Humboldt University, the Institute of Slavonic and Hungarian Studies, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin and the Bulgarian Embassy in Germany.

Special guest will be prominent Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov, and the festive beginning of the international forum will be a concert with the beautiful voices of the Spectrum vocal formation, which show the contemporary face of Bulgarian a cappella music.
