Australians Claudia and Robert Bushow flew 15,000 km from Sydney to get married according to Bulgarian customs in the village of Vishovgrad near Pavlikeni. They brought 60 guests from Australia and the UK. This was the first wedding in Vishovgrad in years. The Vishovgrad Nightingales ensemble entertained the wedding guests, who danced traditional Bulgarian chain-dances, the BNR’s correspondent in Veliko Tarnovo Zdravka Maslyankova reported.

She fell in love with Vishovgrad and the pink house when she first came to see the property her mother had purchased in the village. 10% of the local residents are British, Belgian and Dutch. Associate Professor Petar Petrov, who sold the pink house to the bride’s mother, organized the wedding.
