The vaccination rate for this year will reach 23,3% of the high-risk group of people over the age of 65, and 7% of the entire population. In terms of increase in the vaccination rate we are among the European countries with the best indicators, said Chief State Health Inspector Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev at a press conference, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports.

“To reduce risk, get vaccinated” – this was the motto of the event. Free vaccines against seasonal influenza and pneumococci have been provided for people over the age of 65, medical experts say. The aim is to provide information about the vaccine so that all people may decide whether to get a vaccine, Assoc. Prof. Kunchev commented. Vaccines will be administered until the end of December, some GPs have already been provided with vaccines and are administering them. Each GP, even in the remotest parts of the country, will receive the quantities requested by the ends of the week, Angel Kunchev said.
