“We, Bulgarians, as direct heirs to the work of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, proclaimed by Pope John Paul II co-patrons of Europe, have a duty to preserve and promote their legacy. We highly appreciate the fact that in this noble mission we are together with Poland,” said Bulgarian President Rumen Radev at the opening of an exhibition “Stories from Glagolitic times” at the Jagiellonian Library in Krakow

Emphasizing the deep historical and cultural ties between Bulgaria and Poland, Rumen Radev expressed gratitude for the contribution of Polish researchers in popularizing the role of Bulgaria in the formation of the Slavic and world cultural heritage.

“This exhibition show how important Bulgaria’s place is, as a country in which monuments of culture and literature of exceptional value have been created,” said the library’s director Prof. Remigiusz Sapa. Rector Piotr Jedynak noted, at the opening of the exhibition, that Slavic studies at Jagiellonian University go back around 200 years and Bulgarian studies – around 100.
