The Trakia ensemble celebrates its 50th anniversary with a gala performance at the National Palace of Culture

The famous folklore ensemble Trakia celebrates its 50th anniversary with a gala concert tonight in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture (NDK). The instrumentalists, choir singers and dancers will perform excerpts from their repertoire in a show entitled "50 Years of Emotion".



"We have tried to bring in diversity, we have recreated dances and works from all the folklore regions of Bulgaria," said ballet master Assoc. Prof. Dimo Enev. He added that the company was closely following the idea of its founder, Prof Kiril Djenev, of the so-called folklore theatre.

Special guests at the gala concert will be the choir The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices and the Representative Brass Band of the National Guard Unit.



For half a century the Trakia ensemble has been forging a link between contemporary art and the deep roots of Bulgarian folklore. To date it has given over 8 thousand concerts in 62 countries on all continents.
