At a press conference in the National Assembly, MP Stanislav Balabanov from ITN has demanded the resignation of Caretaker Interior Minister Atanas Ilkov and the Director of the National Theater Vasil Vassilev. According to Balabanov, the law enforcement bodies did not successfully handle the security situation during the protest last night, and as for the director of the National Theater, his choice of the date of November 7 for the premiere of such a performance is not considered not appropriate. Balabanov also pointed out that he does not justify the aggression of the protesters.
For his part, Toshko Yordanov from ITN commented that people have the right to protest and very often political and ill-conceived goals are pushed behind the face of art. Yordanov pointed out that as a state-owned National Theater, it should be responsible for the national consciousness of Bulgarians. In this sense, the director of the theater should think when putting on a play on November 7, when the historic battle at Slivnitsa took place. Yordanov pointed out that the play talks about the same battle in which the Bulgarians are described as "cowards". "If the Bulgarians had been cowards and had lost this war, there would not be a united Bulgaria now," emphasized Yordanov.

On the occasion of last night's clashes, the prosecutor's office reported it would take action after the publication of footage of the attempts to storm the theater by protesters.
