A formation of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC)of the Bulgarian Army took part in the Wise Wolf-24 multinational exercise of the Special Operations Forces of the Balkan States which took place on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The aim of the exercise was to improve the operational capabilities and interoperability of the multinational special forces formations in planning, organizing and conducting joint special operations in a multinational environment. Formations from the Republic of North Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Türkiye, as well as military observers from Bosnia and Herzegovina took part in the exercises.
Emphasis was laid on long-range sniper training. At Krivolak training range, JSOC Deputy Commander Colonel Ivan Raykov, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of North Macedonia Vlado Misajlovski and other high-ranking guests watched the participants demonstrate air and ground infiltration, deployment in the area of operation, special reconnaissance, direct action against an important strategic target, hostage rescue, medical evacuation.
