Traffic to the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing between Bulgaria and Turkey is normalised

The truck traffic on the Maritsa highway to the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing at the Bulgarian-Turkish border is now normalized. "As of this morning, there are no more queues of trucks standing on the roadway waiting to cross the border," assured the head of the traffic police in Haskovo, Dimo Chobanov, in an interview with BTA.

The traffic crisis started on November 16, when Turkey temporarily stopped the processing of trucks at the Kapikule checkpoint due to the planned introduction of a stage of the European transit system NCTS.

Traffic was restored on November 18, but the temporary suspension led to kilometre-long queues of trucks on the Maritsa motorway at the exit from Bulgaria.
