Modernizing critical thinking skills, fact-checking skills and media literacy are essential for society, especially for young people in Bulgaria - the country with one of the lowest media literacy indices in the EU, reports the educational platform prepodavame.bg.
The international project MediaWise focuses on improving media literacy by creating a network of youth that actively participates in the fight against disinformation. Part of this project is the Bulgarian Teen Fact-Checking Network, which involves high school students from all over Bulgaria.
They are already posting their first fact-checking videos on social media. Before they start fact-checking, the high school students undergo training led by the team of the educational platform prepodavame.bg and experienced professionals from the Association of European Journalists-Bulgaria.
