Revenues from tourism during the winter season will increase by 30% compared to 2019, and by 15% compared to last season, mostly because of inflation and the increased level of tourist offers, said Rumen Draganov, Director of the Institute for Analysis and Assessment in Tourism. This means tourist services are expected to bring in over EUR 1.5 billion in revenue.

Around 3.1 million foreigners are expected to visit the country in the period from December until March, compared to 2.9 million last winter – an increase of 5% compared to season 2023-2023 and more than 20% compared to 2019.

Almost 2 million foreigner tourists will arrive in this country, 300,000 of them for skiing. Another 400,000 will come to Bulgaria to visit cultural landmarks and institutions in an urban environment, as well as for spa, to visit friends and relatives, and for business tourism.

The biggest number of tourists is expected from Türkiye, Greece and Romania. Around 65% of the visitors expected will be citizens of the EU.

The tourist season opens on 7 December in the resort of Pamporovo, and on 14 December - in Bansko and the other resorts. A winter vacation will cost 3-7% more compared to last year.
