Verbal skirmishes between the parties after 10th failure to elect speaker of parliament

According to the leader of the MRF-New Beginning, Delyan Peevski, the failure of the tenth attempt to elect a speaker of the 51st National Assembly shows that the other political forces did not want a functioning parliament. He pointed out that this time his party voted in support of the candidate of BSP - United Left, Natalia Kiselova, in order to "unclog" the work of the parliament. However, Kiselova did not receive enough votes to be elected. Peevski's support came as a surprise after his numerous statements that he would not support any candidate for speaker, as well as that this parliament was exhausted and new elections should be held.

"Today it became clear that Natalia Kiselova is Delyan Peevski's candidate. Unfortunately, the long arm of the MRF embraced the BSP and destroyed them," said Stanislav Balabanov from ITN after the results of the vote became clear. According to him, the ITN candidate Silvi Kirilov is the only independent candidate for President of the National Assembly.

GERB leader Boyko Borisov announced that he was surprised by the support of DPS - New Beginning for Natalia Kiselova. He said that he had not been informed of any talks held by BSP and admitted that GERB-SDS might adopt a new strategy.

Kiselova said that the left had not held negotiations in search of support with "DPS - New Beginning".
