EUR 613 million more for the Health Insurance Fund, pensions to be updated by 8%-9% in 2025

In 2025, the National Health Insurance Fund will be able to spend 1.2 billion leva (EUR 613 million) more on insured individuals, the draft budget of its Supervisory Board envisages. The health insurance contribution remains 8% of the insurable earnings. In 2025, the total expenses of the National Health Insurance Fund will reach 9.5 billion leva (EUR 4.86 billion), the same as the projected revenue.

According to the draft budget of the State Social Insurance, pensions will be increased by 8%-9% in 2025. The maximum insurable income is expected to increase from 3,750 leva (EUR 1,917) to 4,130 leva (EUR 2,111), while the minimum insurable income will be set at 1,077 leva (EUR 550), which is the new minimum wage.

The draft budgets of the National Health Insurance Fund and the State Social Insurance will be discussed at the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation on Wednesday.
