In a statement to the media, party leader Delyan Peevski announced that he had sent a letter to the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, in which he announced the decision of DPS-New Beginning to terminate its membership in ALDE. It was taken after a thorough analysis and debates in the party related to its future. The statement reads that there was a gap between DPS "New Beginning" and ALDE. It also expresses disappointment with the distancing of European liberals from the people's agenda and the policy of double standards in the assessment of the processes taking place in Bulgaria. The statement also reads that the MEPs elected by the party are leaving the "Renew Europe" group in the EP.
