A folk costume ball is being organized at the "Nadezhda - 1903" community center in the village of Boynitsa near Vidin. It will be held on January 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the community center hall. Admission is free. Traditionally, the event is held every year on the second Saturday of January, Irina Stankova, secretary of the cultural center, has told BNR Vidin. "The ball has been held in this country for more than 100 years presenting only folk costumes from our region," Stankova added.
The participants are divided into six categories according to the type of costume. The jury will include three or five of the oldest women in the village.
