The oil spill in the Black Sea will not reach the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, BTA reported. According to an analysis of recent satellite images from the Naval Academy, the pollution will not be directed towards the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The data was presented during an emergency meeting on Friday evening between Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh and Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov.

According to Minister Genov, there is no danger of pollution of the Bulgarian waters in the Black Sea after the accident with two Russian tankers on December 15, 2024. The path of the spill is subject to daily monitoring not only in Bulgaria but also in Russia, Romania, Turkiye and Ukraine, where the data confirm similar conclusions. ''There is continuous communication between these countries to ensure the safety of citizens'', Minister Manol Genov explained, adding that the situation in the Black Sea remains under observation.
