Burgas aims to become European Capital of Culture in 2032

Burgas will apply to become the European Capital of Culture in 2032. As the first step, a foundation is being established to handle the strategy and preparations for the procedure. Its establishment was approved by the municipal council today, reported BNR’s correspondent in Burgas, Ivaylo Peev. 

The city has boldly unfolded its potential as a stage for various arts, as a location for cultural tourism in the broadest sense of the word, with newly built and modernized existing infrastructure, the Municipality of Burgas said regarding the ambition of the town to become European Capital of Culture in 2032.
