Bulgarians and Serbs from the towns of Tsaribrod and Pirot marched in support of the student protests in Serbia, reports BTA. "We want the students' demands to be met and we hope that there will be changes in Serbia," demonstrators from the two towns in the Western Outlands (south-eastern Serbia) told the news agency.

The protest lasted until 3pm local time and was a continuation of demonstrations that the citizens of Tsaribrod, Pirot and Bosilegrad have been holding for weeks. The nationwide protests were triggered by the collapse of a concrete roof at the railway station in the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad on 1 November. 15 people died in the accident.

On Saturday 15 February, Serbian Statehood Day, also known as Sretenje, student protesters marched and sang for over 15 hours in Kragujevac. Their next protest is planned for 1 March in Nis.
