Addressing the crises facing the EU requires strengthening Europe's global competitiveness and ensuring security, President Rumen Radev said during a meeting with European Council President António Costa at the Munich Security Conference.

Radev emphasized that the EU must optimize decision-making to respond effectively to the fast-changing international landscape. He noted that the multiple crises make increased investment in defence a necessity, but that each country's ability to allocate a percentage of its GDP for this purpose must also be taken into account.

The President also expressed his hope that North Macedonia will soon begin the actual implementation of the European Consensus 2022 and include Bulgarians in its constitution.
