Malena Zamfirova comes second in Snowboard World Cup in Krynica

Malena Zamfirova won second place in the parallel giant slalom event of the Snowboard World Cup round in Krynica, Poland.

This is the first time the 15-year old is taking part in a world cup contest after clocking 13th in the qualifications. She won versus Michelle Dekker, the Netherlands by 1.01 seconds and Annamari Dancha, Ukraine, winning a place among the final four. In the semifinal she won by 0.27 seconds versus Olympic bronze medalist Ramona Hofmeister, Germany but lost the gold by 0.43 seconds versus world champion Tsubaki Miki, Japan.

Tervel Zamfirov came 4th in the men’s event.
