The emblematic monument of Hristo Botev in Bulgaria's Vratsa dismantled for restoration

The emblematic monument of Bulgaria's national hero - the poet-revolutionary Hristo Botev in the center of the city of Vratsa has been dismantled for restoration. For this purpose, the nine-meter statue will be transported to a specialized workshop in Sofia. There, the areas of the bronze figure that have been compromised over the years under the influence of various factors will be strengthened. 

The latest examination of the statue showed that the thinning of the metal in some places is risky for the monument. 

The monument was created 61 years ago and its author is the sculptor Vladimir Ginovski.

The repair is expected to be completed by the Hristo Botev Day marked on June 2.
