The European Commission has set a date for the release of the ad-hoc convergence report evaluating Bulgaria's readiness to adopt the euro - June 4.

The report will be released during the spring cycle of the European semester. The information has been confirmed by a European Commission spokesperson.

This is the first time the EC is setting a date for the release of the ad-hoc convergence report evaluating Bulgaria's readiness to adopt the euro, which the government requested in February. The report’s evaluation of the fulfillment of the Eurozone membership criteria will determine the scheduling of a date for Bulgaria’s entry into the Eurozone of 20 countries which use the single European currency.
