The Black Sea resort of Albena turns 45 years on August 24. The festive events include the cutting of five giant cakes each one weighing 140 kilograms. The confectioners are to use a total of 3,300 eggs, 140 kilograms of sugar, 110 kilograms of flour and 250 kilograms of whipped cream. All five cakes are unique and are to be cut on Sunday evening during the jubilee concert which is to start with a procession of a youth brass orchestra and a cheerleader’s squad from the town of Lovech. The talismans of Albena resort Dodi, Albi and Iri were selected at a special contest and will introduce the other participants at the event, including a contemporary ballet formation from Saint Petersburg, renowned Bulgarian singer Margarita Hranova, etc.
