Bulgaria and Romania will pursue an active policy for the development of joint tourist products for distant markets, especially China, where a joint Bulgarian-Romanian tourist information center is to open. This was what Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova said during the signing of a protocol of intent for cooperation with Romania in the sector of tourism. The document was signed in Craiova in the presence of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Romanian counterpart Victor Ponta. During the meeting of Minister Angelkova with Romanian counterpart Marcel Bogdan Pandelika it was agreed that Bulgaria and Romania would work on a joint project totaling 1.5 million euro that is to apply for financing from the Program for Cross-Border Cooperation. The plan includes creating a common strategy for creation of regional tourism products with thematic routes on both sides of the Danube in order to attract more tourists not only from the two countries, but also from third markets.
