It is now autumn and the city streets are strewn with leaves of all colours. Outdoor music events are rarer now and people have once again been thronging to clubs to listen to live music.
We kick off with a premiere by Electric Pie in Sofia Live Club on 28 October, where the musicians will be presenting their latest video. The song is called Can I and the video was made at the Urban Art Factory in Sofia. The band is working on their new album, pieces from which they will also be presenting. Electric Pie’s members are – Iasmin Issinov– piano, Ognyan Gurkov – DJ, Alice Indjeian – vocals. The band have a one-hour show lined up with many guest musicians.
On 1 November, National Enlighteners’ Day, Fortissimo Family invite children to an educational concert – Tale of Beethoven and Little Otto, starring Gerassim Georgiev, Gero as Otto and Vladimir Penev as Beethoven, together with the Sofia Philharmonic with conductor Slavil Dimitrov and soloists Svetlin Roussev, violin and Lili Bogdanova, piano.
“This is an opportunity for children to listen to different kinds of music,” says Svetlina Terzieva, one of the event’s organizers. “It is a way to nurture their self-esteem, self-confidence and curiosity and this boosts their creative spirit. One of the basic ideas is to help parents and children acquire a taste for and an interest in classical musical instruments and music, together.”
The audio file contains the following pieces:
- Can I, Electric Pie;
- Sonata Opus 110 by Beethoven, part 2, performed by Lili Bogdanova;
- Aria of Tamara from the opera Borislav, performed by Virginia Keranova with the BNR Symphony Orchestra;
- Friday, Mango Duende.
