Emergency physicians in Bulgaria dissociate themselves from tomorrow’s protest by GPs

Emergency physicians from all over the country state they dissociate themselves from the demand by the National Association of General Practitioners in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Medical Association for the resignation of Health Minister Petar Moskov. In a declaration released to the media they state their disagreement with the protest by general practitioners scheduled for tomorrow.

General practitioners in Kyustendil, Veliko Turnovo, Yambol and Razgrad are beginning protests tomorrow and closing their consulting rooms as of Monday, others will follow. There will be one consulting room left open for emergencies, said Dr. Lyubomir Kirov, chair of the National Association of General Practitioners in Bulgaria in a televised interview. General practitioners are protesting over the Health Ministry’s policy on non-hospital medical services.
