Bulgaria’s authorities are to deploy an extra 300 military men to the state borders, in order to control the refugee flow. It became clear during the Strike Back multinational tactical training at Novo Selo training ground near the city of Sliven (Southeastern Bulgaria). Bulgaria’s Ministers of Defense and Interior are communicating with their counterparts in Bulgaria’s neighboring countries on a weekly basis, in order to ensure strict control of the refugee flow. Bulgaria’s borders are open only at the official border checkpoints, Premier Boyko Borissov said. He pointed out that so far Bulgaria spent EUR 50 million on the construction of border fences, as well as on machinery and travelling allowances. At the end of February this year Bulgaria’s National Assembly authorized the country's Armed Forces to take part at the protection of the state borders during extraordinary situations and crises.
