Bulgaria is to restore the glitter of Haus Wittgenstein in Vienna. This autumn Bulgaria’s Ministry of Culture is to start the repair works of the emblematic building, Minister of Culture Vezhdi Rashidov announced at a meeting in the Austrian capital Vienna with Professor Barbara Neubauer, President of the Federal Office for The Protection of Monuments. Haus Wittgenstein in Vienna is a Bulgarian property. It is home of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute. The beautiful building was declared a world cultural monument. However, it has not been renovated for many years. The building was designed back in 1926-1928 by architect Paul Engelmann and philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein. Later it turned into an important cultural center in Vienna. In 1975 Bulgaria bought the property and turned it into a cultural institute. Minister Rashidov assured Professor Neubauer that Bulgaria would repair and conserve the building in a professional manner and would adhere to all legislative requirements.
